Regional Sales Manager Location: Wausau Job Code: 13-27 # of openings: 1 Description Summary   Manage sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities   1.      Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals. 2.      Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals accordingly. 3.      Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates. 4.      Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales program. 5.      Direct channel development activity and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals. 6.      Advise dealers, distributors, and clients concerning sales and advertising techniques. 7.      Assign sales territory to Sales Representatives. 8.      Analyze sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales. 9.      Direct product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line. 10.  Represent company at trade association meetings to promote product. 11.  Deliver sales presentations to key clients in coordination with Sales Representatives. 12.  Meet with key clients, assisting Sales Representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals. 13.  Coordinate liaison between Sales department and other sales-related units. 14.  Analyze and control expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements. 15.  Assist other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications. 16.  Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion. 17.  Direct product research and development. 18.  Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition. 19.  Recommend or approve budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work. 20.  Other related duties as assigned.   Supervisory Responsibilities   Directly supervise 1-5 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 5-25 employees in the branches and customer service. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and procedures, and/or governmental regulations. Must be able to write simple correspondence and/or routine reports. Must be able to speak with and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.   Mathematical Skills: Must be able to work with mathematical concepts such as margins, markup, and discounts as well as apply concepts such as percentages, fractions, ratios, and proportions in practical situations.   Reasoning Ability: Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.   Computer Skills: Must be familiar with database, Internet, order processing, spreadsheet, and word processing software.   Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up
